Yep - as you described in your post about self doubt (which I loved!) - fears lost their power if you look at them too closely. Suddenly, they just don't seem all that scary. ;)
For some reason, your comment made me picture a cartoon of a bunch writers encircling one of their own as she sits with her fingers poised over the "publish" key. They are all quietly chanting, "Publish! Publish! Publish!" And she does. The end. :)
We do tend to imagine the scariest monsters, don't we? But our fears so often turn out to be nothing. So glad you got past the wild things to find your writing voice!
So true! The thing I've always been most afraid of, ever since I was a little kid, is running out of time. Trying to take control of my time again this year and make progress on those things I care most about. :)
Oh! I feel that one big time. One of my recurring fantasies when I was a kid (which we may have talked about before ...) was to have a magic stopwatch that would allow me to stop time for the rest of the world so that I could have more time to "catch up" ... and maybe take a nap. ;)
If you've found any jedi mind tricks for wrangling your time into submission, I'd love to hear them. Probably my best tool is calendaring instead of using a to-do list, but even that isn't completely reliable. Sometimes, the day just slips away!
Sharing your fears and discomforts is always the brave thing. And that's how we grow. I totally celebrate that!

So true. And it's ongoing - so we gotta keep facing the fear and self-doubt and do it anyway.
So much you wrote here resonates with me. Thank you for pushing past the discomfort and pushing publish!

Yess!
"We never feel ready.
We’re always scared.
And time is running out."
So true.
I can totally relate. When I wrote my first blog (12 years ago, having been writing for 13 years prior to that) I was terrified! Why?!
All sorts of wild things I was making up in my inner wilderness...
As you say... baby steps... and nothing terrible happened 😊 💕

P.S.: love the owl
and best wishes to your Dad!
Awww ... thank you! I'll pass that along.
So much power in your vulnerability. Thank you for sharing this amazing motivation 💙
Thank you for being here and joining the conversation, Chandler. This is new territory for me, and it means a lot to have you offer encouragement.
I like being featured in these, makes me feel like a celebrity. :)
Oh, girl. You ARE a celebrity!
