Music has this incredible ability to transport us back in time, doesn't it? Like you, I have songs that instantly conjure up specific memories and emotions. It's fascinating how a piece of music can evoke such a visceral response, even years later. It's a reminder that we're constantly evolving, yet those core experiences remain a part of us.
Thanks so much, Elizabeth! It was a great era for music. Even my almost 21-year-old daughter listens to 80s music unironically. It has stood the test of time. Thanks for being here!
I am so envious!! I’ve never seen him live, but would love to. And what a wonderful song for your wedding. I was just saying to someone that “In Your Eyes” was my number one angsty teenage anthem, and I’m not sorry about that at all. There’s just something about it that feels like a physical surge of positive emotion fueled by surrender and vulnerability. Love it. 🥰
I’d love to hear what you remember about the show. I bet it was amazing.
In your eyes came out when we first started dating. The concert was awesome, we were in the nosebleeds. Peter Gabriel crowd surfed! My boyfriend'd (now husband) car broke down on the Expressway and 3 of us had to walk to Denny's. No cell phones back then
Crowd surfing! Classic. And though I’m sure it wasn’t fun in the moment, I kind of love that you broke down on the way home. Makes it that much more of a great story. 💜 Thanks for sharing.
I love that the artwork was done by Ai Weiwei! He such a remarkable artist!!

Thank you Jamie. Will give this one a listen. That cover art is so sick. 😍
You're so welcome!! I hope you like it. And I agree - the cover art is amazing, as is the artist who created it.
Peter Gabriel was the soundtrack to my early adulthood, and I've always appreciated hearing how other people relied on his music.... Nice post. ;)

My 26-year-old son listened to Peter Gabriel and sighed. "He's a bit weird, Mom." Lol
That made me laugh. Yeah. Well, it's okay. I'm a bit weird too. 😉
Peter Gabriel was my first concert. In your eyes was our wedding song
